"I sincerely apologize to everyone who are offended by my careless remarks", Yoo Eun-sung said on his Instagram on the 25th. "I made careless remarks and actions with personal speculation unrelated to the production team's intention", adding, "I deeply regret that I have offended many people".

He then bowed his head, saying, "I apologize again for making remarks that hurt the production team, cast members and viewers who are working hard to create a piece and undermine the sincerity of the work".

Kim Jung-hwa plays Choi Soo-ji, a former homosexual lover of Jeong Seo-hyeon (Kim Seo-hyung), in tvN's weekend drama "MINE" which is currently airing. Meanwhile, in the broadcast on the 24th, Jeong Seo-hyeon shed tears while recalling her ex-lover Choi Soo-ji while receiving counseling, and called her "MINE".

Some Christians visited Kim Jong-hwa's social media and criticized her saying, 'homosexuality is a disease that needs to be corrected', 'I am so disappointed' and 'Why did you take on a role that goes against God's order of creation?' and more.

Looking at their claims, it is wrong for Kim Jung-hwa, to take on a role that violates Christian teaching while her husband Yoo Eun-sung is working as a preacher. In response, Yoo Eun-sung said in the comments, "It is about a person suffering from the situation and eventually returning to normal. It's not homosexuality", he said, "My wife had a lot of worries about that role, but thank you for your interest. It seems that the production team is doing noise marketing with homosexuality. My wife and I are against homosexuality", he had said.

However, he was criticized for criticizing the "MINE" production team and trying to pass on responsibility, giving spoilers that seemed to be the core stem of the work, and degrading sexual minorities by defining homosexuality as 'abnormal'.

As the controversy grew, Yoo Eun-sung switched his social media to a private account, but later reopened the account again and posted an apology. Salt Entertainment, Kim Jung-hwa's agency, also briefly said, "We are sorry for the troubles".

Meanwhile, Kim Jung-hwa married Yoo Eun-sung in 2013 and they have two sons.
