It can be said that the actors and actresses who distinguished themselves in the movie industry in the first half of the year can be Kim Myung-min, Song Sae-byeok, Yoo Ho-jung and the other members from "Sunny - 2010".
By director Kang Hyeong-cheol from "Speedy Scandal", "'Sunny - 2010' has been the best box office hit so far this year. The accumulated audience number is up to 4,766,676 until the 13th and has beat movie "Detective K" in just two days.
Kim Myung-min from "Detective K" has heard that his movies are weak compared to his dramas but he stepped on such rumors with this one. He succeeded in creating a box office hit as he played a lively character in the first historical of his life.
Another box office hitter is Song Sae-byeok. Having created a syndrome with movie "The Servant" he did it again with movie "Clash of the Families" rising to 3rd place (2,582,427 audiences). With his unique way of speaking and individuality, his absentminded (?) acting created great laughter in this movie again.
The one thing they have in common is 'comedy'. It's obvious that the Korean movie box office hits were quite strong in comedy. It has also been analyzed that people prefer movies with some kind of humor in them although they are not categorized as comedy. Drama and comedy which emphasize the characters are mightier than others. "Sunny" is one good example.
