A forum on how to make the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang a success was held in Seoul on Thursday.

Figure skating star Kim Yu-na, who serves as a promotional ambassador for the games, pleaded for support for neglected disciplines.

"The hosting of the Pyeongchang Olympics undoubtedly broadened interest in the event in general, but only certain sports get attention", she said.

"We can host the Olympics successfully only when nationwide interest in the less popular winter sports increases".
