Kiss Scene Touches Viewers in 'Slingshot'

A kiss between Park Yong-ha and Park Si-yeon in the KBS2 drama "The Slingshot" has struck a chord with viewers.
The fourth episode on April 14 heralded a new phase in the drama. Released from prison, Kim Shin went to Seo Gyeong-a (Park Si-yeon), who had become a hostess at a luxury bar to pay off his debts, to bring her back.
Now living in a different world, however, she treated him coldly and refused to listen to him. When he, in a pained voice and with tears in his eyes, asked, "How much money do I need to get you back?", she tried to hurt him by saying, "You need 100 million won to spend a night with me and a luxury apartment to spend a week with me".
But she was tightly holding ice in her hand not to show her feelings and had tears in her eyes even when she insisted, "I am not Gyeong-a any more, and I like this world". All this only revealed the fact that she still loved him.
Shin suddenly kissed her and, reading her mind, said, "See... You are still Gyeong-a, my Gyeong-a..". She sadly said, "Can you come to me? Come to this world where I live and stay by my side by driving for me?"--expressing pain because she could no longer escape this world of money.
Being easily able to identify with the two protagonists, viewers praised the outstanding performance of the two Parks in the scene. On the community board on the drama's website, one viewer said, "I felt heartbroken and pained as if I were the characters. I can't wait for the next episode". Other viewers also posted notes, saying, "The scene where Shin met Gyeong-a was the best in the whole series", and "Park Yong-ha's acting was perfect".
In other developments, the conflict between Chae Do-woo, played by Kim Kang-woo, and his father surfaced, and Do Jae-myeong (Lee Phillip) returned home, heralding the unfolding of revenge.
"The Slingshot", being aired on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:55 p.m., has been receiving a good response for its thrilling developments, excellent performance of all its cast members, and well-structured stories.
