KOCCA opens an era of cooperation in Asia's cultural-contents industry

Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Suh, Byung-Moon) is set to lay the foundations of inter-country exchanges for the development of the Asian cultural-contents industry.

KOCCA is launching the "2007 Cultural-Contents-Market Developing Agents Training Project", which will be participated in by about 30 cultural-contents industry leaders from eight countries in Asia (Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand) from September 10 to 14, in Seoul.

This project aims to nurture field-oriented specialists by promoting cooperation among Asian countries as well as personal exchanges between the CEOs and managing officers of the companies and organizations that are at the forefront of each of the eight participating countries' cultural-contents industry.

During the delegates' stay in Korea, they will be invited to visit the headquarters of Korean companies that belong to the cultural-contents industry, including Younggu-Art Movies, Kimjonghak Productions, and PMC Productions, and they will discuss their exchange plans with the key officials of these companies. KOCCA expects concrete results from this project, such as international exchanges between these countries' cultural-contents industries, and the development of collaborative projects.

"This project will go on beyond its launch this year. In the future, we hope to be able to send Korean cultural-contents specialists to these participating countries to offer training programs to those who work in the cultural content industry . This will allow us to determine the conditions of the cultural-contents industries and markets of each of these Asian countries, and to plan collaborative projects with them", said Suh, Byung-Moon, CEO of KOCCA. He added, "We are also planning to hold an international forum in Seoul this coming January to promote the Asian cultural-contents industry and the conduct of personal exchanges in this area".
