Kolon Fashion's "Qua" Advances to China

The women's casual apparel brand "Qua" of Kolon Fashion has advanced to the Chinese market by establishing a joint venture with the Shanshan Group, a leader of the Chinese fashion/retail industry.
Kolon Fashion opened its booth at Shanshan's Hall at the 2nd China International Garment Fair in Beijing in a bid to introduce its products to Chinese consumers.
On March 18, the opening day of the exhibition, actress Park Eun-hye, who has gained popularity in China for her role in the TV drama "Jewel in the Palace" ("Dae Jang Geum"), held an autograph-signing event at the booth to draw visitors.
Next year, Qua will open 15 stores in China, mostly in Shanghai, and expand its distribution network to other regions with the aim of opening stores in 30 department stores by 2009.
FnC Kolon and Kolon Fashion have so far introduced their Kolon Sports and Jack Nicklaus brands in China as exclusive corporations, but it is the first time Kolon has advanced to China via a joint venture.
Shanshan Group Chairman Zheng Young Gang pledged to nurture Qua into a leading fashion brand in China by combining Kolon's product planning ability with Shanshan's business development power and vast distribution network, with the ultimate goal of advancing to the Asian and global markets.
