Korea awards local, global TV drama prizes

The Korean Broadcasters Association will award honors to dramas from all three local networks as well as those from other countries at the 1st Seoul Drama Awards 2006.

Starting with a three-day showcase on Aug. 25, the award ceremony will be held Aug. 29 at KBS Hall. It will be followed by the 6th BCWW, scheduled to run Aug. 29 - Sept. 1 at COEX in Seoul.

The awards will focus on dramas aiming to become a crossroads for exchanging production techniques and ideas for dramas both local and international.

Nominated dramas include; "The Emperor of The Sea" (KBS), "Remember When: Family Portrait" (Grupo Ganga for TVE, Spain) and "Desperate Housewives" (Buena Vista Int'l Television, United States) for Feature Length Drama; and "My Lovely Samsoom" (MBC), "Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World" (Tokyo Broadcasting System, Japan) and "Anna Pihl" (TV2 World, Denmark) for Mini Series Drama.
