Korea MICE expo 2012 opens today

The Korea MICE Expo 2012, the largest convention exhibition in Korea, opens today at COEX for a three-day run, the Korea Tourism Office said Tuesday.

This year's expo marks the 13th and will be the largest out of all the expos held until now with 310 buyer participants. The foreign and local buyers will participate in business consultation for two days. The expo will host 321 booths from 190 MICE related organizations.

MICE stands for meeting, incentives, convention and exhibition. The acronym is used for comprehensively referring to the convention and exhibition industry.

Today, a MICE forum will be held under the theme "The Power of MICE" where professionals from each sector will discuss the various ripple effects in the industry. On Wednesday and Thursday, a briefing session will be held for foreign and local buyer participants at the expo. The briefing will be organized by the KTO, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Daejeon Metropolitan City, and Busan Metropolitan City.
