Korea to Increase Budget to Support "Hallyu"

The Korean government plans to increase its budget, to support the Korean culture wave, or "Hallyu" as it's more commonly known.
During a briefing session over its policy plans for next year, the culture ministry told President Lee Myung-bak that, it plans to TRIPLE its funding for promoting Hallyu to 4-and-a-half million US dollars in 2012.
It also announced a plan to increase the number of licensed tour guides, that specialize in cultural relics, as part of its goal to attract more tourists from abroad and rake in 30 billion dollars in tourism revenue, by the year 2020.
The ministry said, the number of foreign tourists was close to 10 million this year up over a million from last year.
