The Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Ko, Seok-Man) announced that two Korean animations that participated in the Kidscreen Summit held in New York on Feb. 13 and 15 succeeded in sealing contracts worth US$15M and consultancy results worth US$69M. In 2007, Korean animations made contracts worth US$13M and consultancy results worth US$33M.

Korean animations that have sealed a foreign investment contract at the Kidscreen Summit are Me and My Robot and Robot Arpo, which are now in partnership with a French and an Italian production company.

Produced by Tuba Entertainment and distributed by Synergy Media, "Me and My Robot" has sealed an investment contract with Millimages, a major European production company. Consisting of a total of 52 episodes each 11 minutes long, "Me and My Robot" will receive an investment from Millimages worth US$5.6M, 70% of the animation's total production budget of US$8M.

According to the contract's terms, the whole production process, including pre-production, is undertaken by Millimages and Tuba Entertainment, whereas Millimages UK and Synergy Media will distribute the animation to their respective designated regions.

Meanwhile, aside from being a joint producer, Cartoon One is planning to broadcast upon completion its animation "Robot Arpo" through the distribution network owned by the company.

Now in its ninth year, Kidscreen Summit is the largest animation and TV broadcasting program conference in the US. KOCCA participated in this year's Kidscreen Summit with 22 Korean animation and character companies.
