Korean B-boys Popular in Online Games

Korean b-boys who have taken center stage in the Korean pop culture Hallyu boom with their world renowned breakdancing skills are also flexing their power in cyberspace.

The combined online game and b-boying culture is emerging as a new Hallyu leader. Online games are all the rage these days and considered the next generation cultural hub encompassing film, novels and cartoons.

Industry experts say that the hiphop dance game 'B-boy', exclusively on Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation Portable, offers b-boy characters of various nationalities for users to further enjoy their battles.

One of the four final 'bosses' that appear in the game's last stage battle is a Korean, which acknowledges Korea's top class b-boy dancers.

Korean b-boys are also the heroes in HanbitSoft's online dance game 'Groove Party', which was exported to China for 4.5 billion won--a record price for a casual game--even before its official release.
