Hermes is the most popular luxury fashion brand among Korean entertainers, according to data compiled by Galleria Department Store, which analyzed the purchases of 580 local entertainers at its luxury store in an affluent area of southern Seoul.

The result showed that Hermes accounted for 4.2 percent of all buys. The second most popular purchase was Chanel with 4.0 percent, followed by Louis Vuitton (3.8 percent), Brunello Cucinelli (3.3) and Balmain (3.1).

In terms of fashion accessories, Hermes (16.5 percent) also placed first, followed by Chanel (15.8), Louis Vuitton (9.4), Fendi (7.7) and Goyard (5.6).

"The top five brands account for 55 percent of all sales of luxury fashion accessories", a Galleria staffer said.

In luxury women's clothing, Brunello Cucinelli (10 percent) was the top choice of the stars. Balmain (9.4) was second, while Balenciaga (6.6) and Dolce & Gabbana (5.0) were newly placed on the list. The Galleria staffer said that women's preference for clothing brands changes frequently according to the latest fashion trends.

In luxury men's clothing, Tom Ford (33.7 percent) ranked first for the second consecutive year, followed by Lanvin (12.2), Prada (6.9), John Galliano (6.4) and Berluti (6.2).

In cosmetics, Sisley (15.8 percent) has maintained the top spot since 2008, and Kiehl (10.3), Aveda (6.6), SK-II (5.5) and Creed (4.7) were in the top five.
