Korean content to be introduced in the capital of US entertainment industry

The US office of the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Suh, Byung-Moon) joined hands with the Korean Cultural Institute in LA (Director: Kim, Jong-Ryeol) and launched the Korea Digital Cultural Content Exhibition in the Korea Center in LA on July 10 (Korean time).

Prepared to conquer the hearts of the people in LA, the capital of the US entertainment industry, the exhibition offers viewers a chance to experience firsthand Korea's world-leading game content and technology by Korean game developers. The exhibition is not a special, short-term event, but a regular and permanent occasion through which the excellence of Korean cultural content is showcased.

Facilities and equipment for this exhibition were provided by major online game developers and mobile companies from Korea and the US including MEXON, NCSoft, WEBZEN, NHN, SKT, Halio, and INTEL.

Aside from exhibitions for the general public, these events will also be used as educational tools for the LA Educational Office and students in LA. Visits to the exhibition can have grade credits, so it is expected that about 20,000 to 30,000 students in LA will visit the exhibition a year.

"The opening of this exhibition signals the beginning of strategic content marketing of Korea's renowned digital cultural content providers and the Korea Center in LA toward LA, the center of US entertainment industry", said Kim, Yang-Jin, director of the US office of KOCCA. "The Korea Center is the first of its kind, and this exhibition will serve as a prototype of what the Korea Center's roles will be".
