Korean Films Take Up 48% in 3rd Quarter Sales

Amid the controversy over the country's screen quotas system, which requires local cinemas to screen domestic films for certain periods of time, Korean films are continuing to enjoy a wider audience in the country.
Recent findings by the Korean Film Commission indicate that local films accounted for 47.9 percent of ticket sales between July and September, up 3.9 percent on-year.

Meanwhile, the market share of Hollywood blockbusters during the third quarter stood at 44.5 percent, down 4.6 percent from the same period last year.
