An advertisement featuring the song, widely considered Korea's unofficial national anthem, has been appearing on an electronic billboard in Times Square, Manhattan, since Wednesday (local time) ahead of Korea's Liberation Day on Monday.

The 30-second advert titled "Do you hear?" will be shown twice every hour, or about 1,500 times for a month, said the advertiser, Seo Kyoung-duk, a visiting professor at Sungshin Women's University.
