Korean Movie “The Host” Be Invited to Sitges International Film Festival

The film The Host directed by Bong Joon-ho has been invited to the competition sector of the 39th Sitges International Film Festival, one of the world's top three fantasy movie festivals, which will be held in Spain on October 6.

At last year's festival, actress Lee Yeong-ae won the Best Actress award for the film "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and director Yim Pil-sung won the Orient Express award for his movie "Antarctic Journal".

Korean director Kim Ki-duk's "Time" and French director Michel Gondry's "The Science of Sleep" have also been invited to the competition section.

Scheduled to be released on July 27, the movie The Host portrays an ordinary family engaged in a life-and-death struggle against a monster, which suddenly appears in the Han River. The film has received positive reviews due to its fine computer graphic work and concrete story-telling.

The film was acclaimed abroad when it was introduced at the film market of the 59 Cannes International Film Festival in May.
