Korean Special Effects Houses Internationally Recognized

The Jet Li and Jackie Chan star-vehicle Forbidden Kingdom's special effects will be in the hands of the Korean Macrograph Inc, Digital Tetra Inc (DTI), and Footage. Forbidden Kingdom is a big-budget Chinese-American co-production.

Producer Casey Silver explained: "For a film that has crossed so many boundaries and set numerous precedents, it was only fitting to have a top-notch Korean visual effects team come on board. We've been fortunate to assemble the best and brightest from Macrograph, DTI and Footage, and I believe they will bring the film to another level". Director Rob Minkoff added, "Korea is on the cutting edge of media in Asia, so I am excited to see this team work their magic".

The Korean special effects houses made their name with "The Host and D-War". "The Host" was a pioneer in Korea with its scale of CGI and its special effects were in co-operation with US expertise, but Chungeorahm Films announced that the sequel's CGI will be entirely done by Korean special effects houses.

The Korean houses expressed that they seek to become international players and their delight in being part of the high profile project. The collaboration of two of the most exciting and spectacular martial artist actors Jet Li and Jackie Chan has built up great anticipation worldwide.
