KRW20B-worth Robot Taekwon V to be matched with KRW200B-worth Transformer

The animation , which was revived in 2006 after 31 years, and which has become very popular since then, has been made into an SF blockbuster movie on a KRW20B scale.

Shin Cheol, CEO of "Robot Taekwon V" Co., Ltd., announced the news in a press conference that was held for the movie "Robot Taekwon V - Live" (provisional title). The conference was graced by director Kim Cheonggi, who produced the original animation work, and director Won Sinyeon, who directed the film.

The main stem of this movie will be based on the Webtoon (written and structured by "Robot Taekwon V" and with pictures by Jeipigaru), which was published in the media Daum from January to October last year. There will be considerable revisions of the original work, which enjoyed a huge popularity, recording over 21 million hit numbers as a monthly average. Real, solid characters will also be introduced.

The plan is that the movie will be directed by Won Sinyeon, whose artistic skill and popularity were proven in his film "Seven Day". "I doubted whether to accept the assignment because everybody was against my doing it, but I decided to do it anyway because I knew I would feel jealous if somebody else does it. When Taekwon V was introduced 33 years ago, I was seven years old.

Now, my daughter is seven years old. I am sorry for her as she is drawn to Japanese characters like Keroro. I will promise to come up with a work that will attract not only children but also middle-aged adults who remember the classic "Robot Taekwon V".

The movie will certainly attract public attention as a consortium of the best domestic VFX studios (Macrograph, Mopac, Independence, Insite Visual, DTI, and EON) collaborated on it, the first time this was done in the country. The technical director of will also participate in the project. Over KRW6B will be inputted in its CG as well, and the cutting-edge GIS technology will be utilized to make the action scenes featuring large robots look very realistic.
