"It was never easy playing a gloomy role as the daughter of a murder victim in the series, but overall I was truly happy to play my first lead role", she said.

The multitalented actress had a few other jobs before starting her acting career. After majoring in computer engineering at Chungang University, she landed a decent job at Samsung SDS, one of the most sought-after employers, but soon after she quit the job and started working as a news reporter at SBS.

But again she was still unsure about her career path. While working as an intern reporter on the police beat, she repeatedly asked herself, "Is this really what I want?" Then she finally realized that what she really wanted was to be an actress -- something she had dreamed of since childhood.

Winning a beauty pageant in 2014 gave Jin the opportunity to make her dream come true, as she made her debut as an actress after that, getting chances to appear in a number of dramas. Despite making her debut in her mid-20s, the relative latecomer was able to hone her acting skills, picking up supporting roles and minor parts.

Jin says she feels "uneasy" when she has no work, as she started acting at a later age than most actresses.

"For students, there is always a right answer for an exam. But when it comes to acting, there are no right answers, which makes me wonder every time whether I'm doing things right", she said. "Acting is much more difficult than working as an office worker or a reporter, but I love my current job".
