Lee Oi-soo and Heo Ji-woong mourn over the passing of Lee Seong-gyou

Director Lee Seong-gyou who created "My Barefoot Friend" passed away on the 13th due to an illness.

Lee Seong-gyou suffered from liver cancer and passed away at 2:20 AM on the 13th. He was diagnosed with the late stage of his condition while directing the movie "SHIVA, Throw Your Live" and was moved to a hospice department as his condition worsened.

Novelist Lee Oi-soo said, "We have lost yet another one of our greatest directors. This breaks my heart. We will not forget he who dedicated his life to making movies. Rest in peace".

Entertainer and critic Heo Ji-woong posted on his Twitter, "Lee Seong-gyou, rest in peace".

Meanwhile, the deceased's funeral will be arranged in room 2 of the Kangwon University Hospital.

Lee Seong-gyou created the Independent Korean Producer's Organization with outsourcing filmmakers and was the first chairman of it. He released the movie "My Barefoot Friend" in 2011 after filming in India for 10 years and 2 years of editing. He is now about to release "SHIVA, Throw Your Life".
