Lee Young-ae Attempts Striking Makeover

Actress Lee Young-ae showed off a totally new image in her latest movie "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance". So far, Lee's image as commonly portrayed in her movie posters has been one of a naive-looking woman with long straight hair and no makeup whatsoever.

But the way Lee's character in the film, "Keum-ja", looks after she finishes 13 years of military service is completely different from Lee's previous image. In the story, Keum-ja is a fearsome character driven by revenge after being discharged from the army.

"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", which was filmed from Dec. 1 in Seoul, Busan, Gangwon Province and even Australia, wrapped up production on April 28.

The movie's final scene, which was filmed in Australia during April 19-25, has drawn much attention as it was filmed in secret and will remain undisclosed until the movie hits theaters, much like the final scene of the hit movie "Oldboy", which was filmed in New Zealand.

"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", the final chapter in director Park Chan-wook's three-part "vengeance" series, has come into the spotlight for starring top stars and some 40 supporting actors. The movie opens in July.
