Lee Young-ae supports Seo Kyeong-deok in "Korean Culture Street Festival" in Harlem

Lee Young-ae who has been promoting Korean food all over America and Shanghai is now supporting the "Korean Culture Street Festival" in Harlem, New York hosted by Prof. Seo Kyeong-deok from Seongsin Women's University.

This festival is all about introducing Korean food and culture to the citizens of Harlem by the students of the Democracy Prep Public School which is well known for teaching the Korean language.

Prof. Seo said, "I found about this festival when I visited New York this year and I thought it was really meaningful, so I asked Lee Young-ae to help me support it".

"This is the first time a street festival introducing Korea is going on in Manhattan, New York and it's a good chance to upgrade the image of Korea".

This festival will be held between Manhattan Avenue 134 No.7 and 8 including a performance of the Korean song "Arirang" my a student band and K-Pop performances by high school students. Other activities include learning about the Hanbok, writing Korean and learning Korean traditional games.

Lee Young-ae who is supporting this event says, "This means a lot because children in America can participate and experience the Korean culture and I Hope this becomes an annual thing so that Hallyu spreads to Harlem as well".

Seo said, "The event will start off with a moment of silence in respects to the victims of Sewol and students will be selling Yellow Ribbons to gather donations. The profits from T-Shirts sold that day will also be donated".
