The submissions range from a work filled with complicated formulas and phrases in the style of genius poet Yi Sang at the end of Chosun Dynasty to handwritten diary-like entry comprising more than 300 A4 pages.

Also, Koreans living in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada showed great interest in the competition.

The competition is part of the Korea New Story Creation Project announced on October 22, 2009. The awards ceremony will be held this March, with total prize money of 450 million won: 150 million won for the grand prize winner, 100 million won for the highest standing, 50 million won for two 'excellence award' winners, and 10 million won for ten 'encouragement award' winners. The panel will be made up of content industry professionals from the fields of investment, supply and production.

The winners will be funded by the KOCCA Creation Center to help them complete their scenario writing. Once the work is complete, the writers will be assisted with supports for production, distribution and supply. Non-winning works with commercial value will also be developed further through the Creation Center.
