A couple of weeks ago, Seo Yoo-jung visited Italy for a vacation. While visiting, she posted numerous pictures taken throughout her trip on her official Instagram page. However, one photo in particular caught the public eye and earned negative feedback.

At the Saint Mark's Basilica located in Venezia, Italy, the actress caused an uproar by casually jumping on top of the small lion statue in front of the cathedral church for a cute photo. The photo caption read, "I was oh-so-vigorously sitting there without knowing what will happen one second later as I was scolded by people. Am I still shuddering? *runs away*".

When netizens saw the photo, they accused the actress of disrespectful ignorance. Her actions were damaging to cultural property with valuable history to the people of Italy. However, netizens focused on what she did after she was scolded by people gathered at the Saint Mark's Basilica. Even if she did not have a good understanding of the damage she was causing to the lion statue, netizens expected that she would stop after being told not to continue to sit atop the cultural property by those around her.

Facing furious netizens, Seo Yoo-jung deleted the photos and posted an official apology message on her Instagram account. She said, "Hello, this is Seo Yoo-jung. First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone who must have been uncomfortable with my action posted in the photo on my SNS. I should have been more careful and considerate in everything, but I made a huge mistake by my insolent action. I'm sincerely regretting it. Once again, I want to say that I'm truly sorry and I will be more careful from now on where such problem won't occur again".

After her apology message, netizens are still angry. The actress' Instagram account is now private.
