Yura recently played the prideful former top star, actress Jin Tae-ri, in the drama "Radio Romance". In the drama, Yura had to let go of her normal cute and bubbly self and transitioned into a vicious actress who will do anything to bring back her fame.

Since Yura started her acting career, this is the first time she has played a villainess, but her character was hard to hate. Yura created her very own snobby, but endearing Jin Tae-ri and grown as an actress. She held a short Q&A interview in celebration of "Radio Romance"'s finale.

Q. How do you feel since the drama has ended?

A. This was my first time playing a villainess and I was worried that it will look unnatural because of my bubbly image the viewers already know and are familiar with. I tried my best to portray myself and I'm grateful that everyone received the character well. It was a time of gaining great experience and great friends.

Q. Did you have a hard time trying to play a character who has such a different personality from you?

A. Since I was angry most of the time and using such high-tone of voice to yell, my throat was strained. I often thought that I want to speak more comfortably. Considering my normal behavior, it's so hard to be that quick to anger and sometimes it was refreshing to let it all out, but mostly exhausting to be that emotional all the time. The hardest scenes were the crying scenes.

Q. Would you do another villainess role?

A. You know how there was a bit of romance between me and Ha Jun towards the end? Since I was always yelling and being angry, I wish there was more to it. Since I was a villainess, there weren't many opportunities to film romantic scenes. It is surely fascinating to become someone else who's so different from me, but enthusiastic characters are more fitting for me.

Q. What do the other members of Girl's Day think of your role?

A. We don't really criticize or even mention each other's acting. If we come across it coincidentally, there's just light-hearted jokes and comments like, "That outfit is cute", "Was that a kiss scene?", etc. Since we are so close, it feels natural.

Q. Any common point you saw between Tae-ri and yourself?

A. As I was acting Tae-ri, who was once a top star but now neglected, I felt for her. I think I can understand what kind of feeling that is. I did have a time of being a no-namer before. Of course, I never had an incident like being ignored at the photo wall and what not but when I was acting that scene, I got really upset. I wanted to protect her.

Q. Since you experienced that, you may have gained fear of the decrease in your fame one day.

A. I'm not really afraid of going down. I try to focus on the present. If there's any fear I have for the future, that's maybe becoming a grandma? I want to live long and prosper. I am curious of what the future holds. I want to witness the world changing for as long as I can.

Q. You appear in variety show as much as you do the dramas.

A. "I do love acting, but same goes for variety shows. I can't just choose one. I especially loved being a part of the talk show "Life Bar". It was a place where I could meet many people whom I can't easily meet if it wasn't for the show. Since the show talks a lot about their life experiences, it was so good to hear all the different stories and life advices. Also, the bar food is so good, we drank a lot, too. Since we are shooting the show while being a bit tipsy, it doubles the fun. You know how people get friendly faster over a glass of beer.

Q. Are there any stars you've grown close and keep in touch because of "Life Bar"?

A. Not because of "Life Bar", but I do keep in touch with actor Yoon Si-yoon and comedian Yang Se-hyung who I've met through different variety shows. When I get an offer for a variety show, I tend to consult with Yang Se-hyung and for dramas, I talk to Yoon Si-yoon. Even before starting "Radio Romance", I had many conversations with him. Since I'm not originally an actress, it was good to have his perception, looking at the story and the role in the eyes of a real actor.

Q. It's been 8 years since you debuted, how do you feel about that?

A. I still can't believe that I'm already 27. When I hear that I've been working in the industry for 8 years now, I don't feel that on my skin. I still feel like I'm a newbie. In the blink of an eye, I came all the way here. Since Girl's Day took some time before becoming famous, it still surprises me when I think about the fact that I debuted when I was 19.

Q. What should we expect from actress Yura now that "Radio Romance" has ended?

A. I do like acting out a character who's similar to me, but I've experienced the charm of trying to portray a character who's so different from me. I want to play a character who's shy or even a serious one. Also, since I like being active, I want to do an action genre. I want to have a solid filmography on both acting and variety shows.
