Meet classic Korean cartoons

Encounter with classic Korean cartoons

The Korean Classic Cartoon Exhibition will be held at Gallery Gak in Insa-dong from Dec. 20 to 26.

Hosted by Cartoon & Nostalgia (CEO: Oh, Kyeong-Soo) and Leetaegeun Collections, the exhibition will shed light on Korea's classic cartoons based on works by Park, Ki-Dang and Kim, Jong-Rae, among others. To be exhibited therein are 150 to 200 volumes of original cartoons by a total of 30 Korean cartoonists, each of which will have detailed writeups on the cartoonist.

The exhibition was initiated by Oh, Kyeong-Soo, CEO of Cartoon & Nostalgia, who, while establishing the Korean Classic Cartoon Museum, crossed the country to collect and purchase rare Korean cartoons. "Data on Korean classic cartoons in the '50s and '60s deserve to be shared by many of us today", said Oh, "and I hope this exhibition will initiate the reevaluation of Korean classic cartoons".
