Memories of Bungeoppang Miniature Exhibition Extended until November 13

First Featured Exhibition at the Cultural Contents Gallery Draws over 7,000 Visitors in the First Two Weeks

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA President & CEO Lee Jae-woong) are jointly hosting the Memories of Bungeoppang, a 3D Animation Miniature Exhibition, at the Cultural Contents Gallery on the 1st floor of the KOCCA building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu.

Since the exhibition opened on October 5, a daily average of 500+ visitors has enjoyed the exhibition resulting in more than 7,000 visitors in just two weeks. KOCCA announced that the exhibition period will be extended for three more weeks, from October 23, as originally planned, to November 13.

At the Memories of Bungeoppang exhibition, visitors will be able to see some 20 miniatures of alleyways, houses, and Korean streets from the 1960s that were created for the 3D animation film currently in production. The film by Director Shim Hyung-rae of Younggu Art is scheduled for release in 2011.

A video presentation of the miniature production process and a never-seen-before 3-minute preview clip are screened at the exhibition site. Visitors can also have their pictures taken with life-sized pictures of the 6 brothers and sisters from the film.

A middle-age visitor said, "The exhibition was reminiscent of the old days, if only briefly, and I miss the warm moments during those days". Kindergarten students who came to the exhibition on a group tour got a glimpse at how things were when their parents had been their age, whilst looking at curiously the classrooms and miniature works, all of which are smaller than themselves.

The exhibition is open to the public from 10AM to 8PM, everyday until November 13, and tickets are free.
Students from Kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools and animation-related academies can also have group tours of the exhibition.
