The 2020 March 25th starting KBS 2TV drama "Meow, the Secret Boy" is a fantasy romantic drama about a cat who turns into a human man and a dog-like human woman, starring Kim Myung-soo, Shin Ye-eun in the lead and Seo Ji-hoon, Kang Hoon and Yoon Ye-joo in the following line-up. In addition, writer Joo Hwa-mi and PD Ji Byeong-hyeon are in charge of the drama.

The 3-hour script reading was held in October with Kim Myung-soo, Shin Ye-eun, Seo Ji-hoon, Kang Hoon, Yoon Ye-joo, Kim Yeo-jin, Jeon Ik-ryung, Yang Dae-hyuk, Kim Ye-seul, Lee Yoo-jin, Choi Bae-young, Choi Min-geum and Song Min-jae.

Prior to the script reading, PD Ji Byeong-hyeon made a speech saying, "I read somewhere that although love may be painful, one must do one's best in the moment. That's the best part about this scenario. It also states the love and comfort of pets, which is all the more reason I wanted to produce this drama".

Kim Myung-soo takes on the role of Hong-jo, a cat who remembers turning into a little boy once when it was young and turns back into a human, this time a young man. Shin Ye-eun plays the role of Kim Sol-ah, a dog-like human who has affection for any human being and follows that person everywhere.

Seo Ji-hoon is Lee Jae-seon, a smooth, but cold character just like the leather at the workshop he runs. Kang Hoon is Go Doo-sik, the only dog-like human around Kim Sol-ah who has been her first for the last 10 years. Thanks to her timid and fearful personality, Eun Ji-eun, played by Yoon Ye-joo adds abundance to the drama.
