MIPCOM 2008, Effect of Lever for Advancing to European Markets

Through 'MIPCOM 2008', which was held in Khan of France from 13th to 17th, many of Korean enterprises got MOU contracts to have chances advancing to the European Market.

Korean Enterprise Team, co-operated by 35 Korean enterprises, came out with a slogan 'Creative Korea' with installing 10 booths. Korea Culture & Contents Agency (Director: Seok-Man Go) supported promotion of Korean animations and characters as well as biz-matching and networking with buyers from the world.

From the group, Korea's Sien Design got a MOU contract with Biobroid, a Portuguese game development company and they said they would make Banana Shake to a game.

Also Ggambu's Mystery Island and Synergy Media RG reached an agreement with BRB Internacional's (Carlos Biern), a Spanish animation studio.

This year's Mipcom has been considered as a successful one because of the activation of each country's team booth as well as format sales. Each country got co-operated rather than individual corporations. Especially, 77 Canadian enterprises have been participated including animation enterprises. People said format sales of European and American broadcasting programs got activated as well as realistic program sales.

* MIPCOM is the biggest worldwide market which displays broadcasting images like TV program, films, and animations with new media contents in order to make sales on the world's TV networks, distributors, and buyers.
