Moon Shines in French Cinemas

PARIS - Moon So-ri, the Korean actress who took on a big challenge when she played a handicapped woman in the movie "Oasis", is getting rave reviews from the French media since the movie was released there Wednesday. Three major newspapers - Le Monde, Le Figaro and Liberation - carried articles that extolled her performance.
Le Figaro published an interview of Moon under the title, "Acting from the heart". It said, "Moon So-ri is the name reverberating like a refrain of a traditional Korean song. Her face is white like the moonlight, but her movement is like sunshine". The article also pointed out that Moon once volunteered at a center for the handicapped and overcame challenges with the help of disabled friends.

The Le Monde article said, "Awards at film festivals favor actors who play roles with unusual characteristics, such as alcoholics and handicapped persons. And Moon, who performed as a handicapped woman in "Oasis", captured good fortune at the Venice International Festival".
