Movie 'Adresse Inconnue' to release in French theaters on Feb. 9

Director Kim Ki-duk's movie 'Adresse Inconnue' (English title: Address Unknown), which depicted alienated people around American troops in the 1970s, is released in French theaters on Feb. 9.


Romances end in blood and the frail hopes of individuals are torn apart in a vile karmic continuity of colonialism, civil war and occupation.


After surviving Japanese colonization, Korea became the first war zone of the Cold War. The legacy of war remains today in this divided country.


Three forlorn teenagers, Chank-guk, Jihum and Eunok are figures in the landscape of this story, which highlights the global implications of a very Korean reality.


None of them is able to escape the withering pull of tragedy. All desperate pleas for love and redemption are returned stamped in red with .


As Korean movies are garnering markedly interest in France recently, director Kim is deemed to be one person among Korean movie directors to whom is paid attention on-the-spot.


'Adresse Inconnue's distribution firm on-the-spot explained additionally about Korea's divided country reality, dictatorship and economy reconstruction, and the actual of the U.S. Forces stationed in Korea, saying that director Kim is inspired by his experiences of child times that lived around American troops.

Bad Guy' also was screened on Jan. 30 last month as one of participation films for the Korean Film 50 years event.


This film also is a penetrating look into the underworld of prostitution and crime in Korea, but it is much more than that. It is an examination of the psychology of obsessive love, and also fate, or at least, of fateful decisions.
