Movie Advertisements 40 Years Later

There was a time when cars drove around the neighborhood advertising the latest movie release. People could only afford to go to the movies during big holidays. Nevertheless, movie theaters strained to attract one more customer.
As if the huge signboard in front of the theater was not enough, a man covered with movie posters worked as a walking advertisement in front of Seoul Station in December 1962.

The naïve movie advertisements during the 1960s has given way to the diverse advertisements of today. Last Sunday, men dressed as characters from "The Matrix" advertised the last series of the movie at the COEX Center in Seoul. The advertisers are mimicking a "flash mob", or unplanned gatherings of large groups of people that converge in public places for brief periods of time.

The latest trends influence advertisements these days because the success or failure of the movie depends heavily on the advertisements rather than the movie itself.

It is the end of autumn. Before this autumn ends, why not go watch a few classic movies?
