#1 Rivals In K-pop: IU vs. Suzy

2012/09/07 | 1370 views | Permalink | Source

The "nation's younger sister", IU, and the "nation's first love", Suzy were chosen as the new #1 rivals.

According to the September 6th broadcast of "Entertainment In TV" on a cable channel in Korea, the two topped the "Secret Chart" that was unveiled. There are many famous and long-time rivals in Korean entertainment, like Song Dae-gwan vs. Tae Jin-ah, and Shin Seung-hoon vs. Kim Gun-mo. However, being that they've been compared time and time again, the public wanted to see some new faces on the rivals list. Hence the "Secret Chart of NEW Rivals" was compiled.

The two have a similar charm, both exuding a cute and innocent aura.
In fact, ask any average Korean guy to pick between the two, and they'd have a hard time.

Others on the list included the heavy-set comedians Kim Joon-hyun and Yoo Min-sang. The two are close in real life, yet they've been compared a lot especially for their size. In the sports realm, especially after the national soccer team won the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, Ki Sung-ryong and Goo Ja-cheol were selected to be rivals. The two grabbed netizens' interests when they displayed their closeness via their personal SNS accounts.
