Nelson Shin proves a living legend of Korea animator world

As 'Empress Chung' by Nelson Shin gained an enthusiastic favorable comment from the audience in the 6th Jeonju International Film Festival closed the curtain in late May. 6, animation director Nelson Shin proved once more that he is a living legend of Korea animator world.

Director Shin's 'Empress Chung' has been recognized in terms of the animation's artistic merit at home & abroad as the animation was awarded the grand prix of the Seoul International Cartoon Animation Festival and a special prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival, France.

'Empress Chung' into which production cost of 7 billion won and the period of production of seven years were projected, is an animation of joint production between South and North Korea for the first time at home.

Director Shin expressed affection, saying that 2D animation has unlimited possibilities and its result can be differed according to a director's production.

Thanks to its explosive favorable comments in the Jeonju International Film Festival, 'Empress Chung', which sets off gorgeous color, traditional character and reinterpretation of classics, is to be released in nationwide theaters on the forthcoming July.
