"Northern Limit Line" to postpone

National movie "Northern Limit Line" has been postponed due to the sunken ship Sewol.

The production team announced on the 23rd of April that the making of the movie will be postponed due to the tragic sinking accident of Sewol. "If everything was to go according to plan, "Northern Limit Line" was supposed to head down to Jinhae to hunt for filming location as well as layout filming structures. However, the whole nation has been put into grief and mourning over the victims of the ship Sewol so the movie can no longer be in production for the time being. There was no way we didn't think about the 2010 Cheonan Ship accident as well. We are devastated at the fact that most of the victims of this accident were young children who were yet to bloom".

"We hope with our dearest hearts that a miracle happens. There is going to be a delay in the making of the movie, but everyone on our team are hoping everyone is saved. The support and investments headed towards "Northern Limit Line" seem to have changed into the hands of support for those victims of Sewol".

"Northern Limit Line" is about the real battle in Yeonpyeong on the 29th of June in 2002. This is called the '2nd Battle of Yeonpyeong' because it happened 3 years after the first battle of Yeonpyeong on the 15th of June 1999. This battle occurred for 25 minutes when two North Korean patrol ships invaded the border line. Major Yoon Yeong-ha, sergeant Han Sang-gook, Jo Cheon-hyeong, Hwang Do-hyeon, Seo Hoo-won and petty officer Park Dong-hyeok were killed in his war and 19 others were hurt.

Director Kim Hak-soon attempted to make the movie in 2007 after buying in the copyrights for the novel "Battle of Yeonpyeong" written by Choi Soon-jo but the families who lost their beloved ones were against it. Kim Hak-soon was given the permission to make the movie the day after Ship Cheonan sank. He said, "What the families wanted, is the country to remember what happened and portray in the movie, the brave minds of those who were killed then".
