Number of Korean Emigrants End Up Standing at 753

The so-called "Korea exodus" that refers to a growing number of people, leaving Korea to live overseas, seems to be on a DOWNWARD trend.
Korea's foreign ministry said today, that the number of people who applied for emigration OUT of the country, stood at around 750 last year, just about one-and-a-half percent of the total recorded in the late 1970s.
The number of Korean residents abroad, who came back to their mother country, on the other hand, rose by more than 40 percent last year compared to 2003.
The ministry attributed the new trend to improved living conditions in Korea, thanks to economic development.
