[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Choi Daniel and Park Eun-bin Chase Ghosts in Horror Thriller Drama "The Ghost Detective"

Choi Daniel and Park Eun-bin have accepted their roles in KBS 2TV's upcoming ghost-catching drama "The Ghost Detective", and its genre and premise get me all excited over the potential for a fun summer horror piece! The titular detective gets mixed up in some serious business, and there isn't exactly a handy guidebook for dealing with it.

"The Ghost Detective" is a horror thriller drama in which private ghost-chasing detective Lee Da-il, and his assistant, Jeong Yeo-wool encounter a mysterious woman named Seon Woo-hye and become involved in a bizarre case. Choi Daniel will be Lee Da-il. Originally an army sergeant, Da-il became a private detective after being fired from the military due to internal accusations of violence and corruption.

Da-il has keen investigation instincts and great tenacity, but he's in the odd position of having to use his detective skills for catching ghosts. He's firm with the strong, delicate with the weak, and his defiance and unwillingness to believe what others believe are another charming point of his. His eyes, which observe every detail of the world, his ears, which hear even the smallest of voices, and his need for resolution to his suspicions are the starting point to investigating bizarre crimes.

Choi Daniel has commented "I'm very excited to be working with a good director and writer through "The Ghost Detective". What particularly stood out for me was the charming personality of Lee Da-il. I hope it will be a thrilling drama that will bring a refreshing feeling to a lot of people this summer".

Park Eun-bin will be Da-il's "hot blooded assistant", Jeong Yeo-wool. She gets involved in the mystery case while working part-time at Da-il's office, a job she took on for a hidden purpose. Her 10 years of working experience are her weapon, and she has the ability to see through ghosts. The actress has commented "I have a great deal of faith in PD Lee Jae-hoon-III and writer Han Ji-wan-I. I'm excited to be meeting a good crew and spending the summer in a scary and thrilling way. I will love Jeong Yeo-wool with a fully prepared mind".

The production is equally happy with its choice of actors, and I am happy with everyone involved. PD Lee Jae-hoon-III seems like a fresh talent with potential, and so is writer Han Ji-wan-I. I thoroughly enjoyed his work in "Wanted", so I hope to see some good evolution here. "The Ghost Detective" will be premiering in late August.
