[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Elite-focused Black Comedy "SKY Castle" Holds Script Reading

Upcoming drama exploring the outrageous elite, "SKY Castle", has held its script reading, and we have some stills of its powerhouse cast to enjoy. The amount of beloved Dramaland names in this is no joke, and the premise sounds like just the kind of thing we need when it comes to mentally dealing with the insanity that is the filthy rich.

"SKY Castle" is a black comedy about South Korea's top 0.1% residing at the titular location. The husbands of the women living there are seen as kings, and their children as royalty. The drama follows the desires and efforts of these women who want to raise princes and princesses. Think "Secret Mother", but focused on the housewives obsessed with status.

Attending the script reading were writer Yoo Hyeon-mi ("Golden Cross", "Bridal Mask"), PD Jo Hyeon-tak ("Mirror of the Witch", "Maids"), as well as actors Yum Jung-ah, Jung Joon-ho, Lee Tae-ran, Choi Won-young, Yoon Se-ah, Kim Byung-chul, Oh Na-ra, Jo Jae-yun, Kim Seo-hyung, Jung Ae-ri, Song Min-hyung, Kim Jung-nan, Yu Seong-ju, Lee Hyun-jin and more.

Writer Yoo Hyeon-mi is very pleased with the production, stating that she loves writing for a cast that is so passionate about portraying her material. She also expressed her hope that "SKY Castle" will become a drama which will save families. South Korea's obsession with academic prestige makes this a noble goal. The Daechi-dong elite is an infamous entity of its own. "SKY Castle" will follow "The Third Charm" on jTBC in November.
