[Orion's Daily Ramblings] First Stills of Lee Bo-young in "Mother - Drama"

At long last, we get our first peek into the Korean remake for a beloved Japanese drama and it's amazing how simply looking at a solid actress can get one's excitement going. Lee Bo-young ("Whisper", "God's Gift - 14 Days") is pictured as the seemingly cool and collected temp school teacher, Nam Soo-jin. Despite her cold appearance, the heroine connects with a student name Hye-na.

When she discovers the student's story, the two form a mother-daughter bond through one rash decision taken by Soo-jin. What I got to see of Matsuyuki Yasuko's performance in the Japanese original was impressive and I can tell how great a choice Lee Bo-young will be for this role. The actress has good range and she emotes beautifully, so I am very curious and eager to see how she handles the understated nature of this character.

I'm not sure how much will change from the original or if the Korean version will take on a new approach in tone and progression, but I am ready to absorb any news on this like a sponge. "Mother - Drama" will follow "Prison Playbook" on tvN.
