[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Ha Ji-won Joins Big Budget Drama "Prometheus"

In Greece we have a saying that goes "When you hear of many cherries, carry a small basket", which essentially means that you should not buy into hype. Upcoming big budget drama "Prometheus", which has now landed actress Ha Ji-won as its lead is asking for a gigantic basket, but can it deliver the cherries to fill it?

"Prometheus" reportedly draws inspiration from the current international situation where the denuclearization of North Korea has been initiated following the North Korea - United States of America and North Korea - South Korea summits. In its fictional premise, a team of North Korean scientists in charge of this denuclearization process are sent overseas, but suddenly disappear during their return.

Ha Ji-won will be playing NIS (National Intelligence Service) agent Cha Eun-seo, the leader of the second team in charge of proceedings with North Korea. The character was conceived specifically with Ha Ji-won in mind, so the production assures us that her image remains intact. The production side has also commented that the planning and writing of the drama have been in the works for about 2 years now, while they are currently looking into casting the appropriate actors for each character.

"Prometheus" will be airing near the end of this year, and it sports a staggering budget of nearly 27 million US dollars. News agencies were quick to have actor Ju Ji-hoon attached to the project yesterday, but his side has already stated that he declined the role a few months ago. An expensive, politically charged production like this is no joke, so I'm waiting for more details before I dip my toes into the hype for this one.
