[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Ju Ji-hoon Courted for "Save Me" Writer's Fantasy Mystery, "The Item"

'HanCinema Writer Loses Composure Over Exciting Project' would have been my second title for this piece, as the news that writer Jeong I-do-I of "Save Me" has a new supernatural series coming out could only be topped by some promising casting plans that include someone like Ju Ji-hoon.

"The Item", which is based on a webtoon of the same name, is a mystery fantasy drama about a profiler and a prosecutor who uncover a conspiracy and secrets surrounding objects with special powers. This is reportedly a story where the extraordinary lies in the creation of powers within seemingly ordinary objects owned by ordinary people.

Is anyone having flashbacks to "Friday the 13th: The Series"? I absolutely loved that to bits, and although the objects in "The Item" are probably not cursed antiques, the overall concept hooks me instantly. The MBC series will be produced by Huayi Brothers of "Ruler: Master of the Mask", "Boy and Girl From the 20th Century", "Mask" and more, but I need to see a PD.

Actor Ju Ji-hoon has been offered the role of Kang Gon, a prosecutor who rejects his orders and becomes a whistleblower for the prosecution's internal corruption. While the actor's agency has clarified that this is only one of the works under his consideration, it's exciting news nonetheless, and I hope that the entire main cast will be equally quality-focused.
