[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Kim Kap-soo and Jang Sung-bum Cast in "Just Dance"

Documentary-based drama "Just Dance" has now completed its main cast, as actor Kim Kap-soo will take on the role of the teacher giving the titular ladies dance, and life lessons. Joining him on the flip-side of educator prowess is Jang Sung-bum as a bad teacher who has issues with the dancesport (competitive ballroom dancing) group.

Kim Kap-soo plays Lee  Kyu-ho, the physical education teacher leading the group of six. Although he teaches PE and dancesport, what he wants to accomplish above all is to give the children hope, showing them that they can achieve things even if they're not academically gifted. He wants to show them the happiness that can be found in working hard at what you love, and teach them how to form genuine relationships with people.

Then we have the one who clearly lacks any sense of social responsibility towards his students, Jang Sung-bum's Han Dong-hee. He's a problematic teacher who hates the children, the school, and his job. His goal in life is to work in Seoul after passing the teacher certification exam. When he gets involved with the dancesport team, his plans to leave Geoje fall through.

This is a solid couple of casting decisions I can get behind, especially when it comes to the pivotal character of Lee  Kyu-ho, who carries the name of the real person he is based on. Kim Kap-soo is a wonderful actor and capable chameleon, and I can already feel my heart moved by the ladies and his team. "Just Dance" will be an 8-episode KBS 2TV drama premiering in December.
