That would be the literal boot, because if that sole impression is anything to go by, this character will have as much pain as he will fun in "A Korean Odyssey". The drama has released stills of two characters and we start off with the aforementioned trampled top star that is P.K, also known as the Pig or Pig monster/demon. The man is played by Lee Hong-ki and I'm tempted to call him Jeremy, but I hope the Hong sisters won't rely on nostalgia for this.
The character is supposed to be someone who can seduce humans, so I imagine the stills are part of the consequences for not taking this power too seriously. I'd hate to see how his face would look like if the one out for revenge were to wear stiletto heels. I'm not sure how Piggie's relationship with our Monkey King and Bull Demon Wonka will be, but it's nice to see more of the supernatural beings from the supporting cast.
Speaking of supporting goodness, the ever so talented and cool Lee El has stills of her character released as well, and she looks ready to kick backsides and take names. The actress will be playing Ma Ji-yeong, the charismatic and capable secretary to Cha Seung-won's CEO. The two are expected to have an interesting chemistry and my ship sense is tingling.
The one I am most interested in, however, is Lee Se-young's character. The young woman is an undead, a zombie who cannot remember who she is or how she died. On top of that, she has to cope with a decaying body. I thought we would be dealing with demons and deities only, so this puts an interesting spin on things. Just how many types of creatures will we get here and what is this lady's story?
As much as I enjoy this step-by-step introduction to the characters, I really wish we will get to see more of the world in "A Korean Odyssey" soon. Star power gets the buzz going, but I'm here for supernatural shenanigans and adventure.
