[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Lee Ji-ah Becomes a Mysterious Woman for "The Ghost Detective"

"The Ghost Detective" proves its psychic abilities once more, because an otherworldly mysterious woman is just the kind of intriguing character to make my anticipation of this drama even stronger. Delusions of grandeur on my part aside, Lee Ji-ah leaves "My Mister" for a role I can't wait to dive into.

The actress plays Seon Woo-hye, the aforementioned mistress of the obscure, who pulls Lee Da-il (Choi Daniel) and Jeong Yeo-wool (Park Eun-bin) into a bizarre incident she holds the key to. Seon Woo-hye will show up at every crime scene Da-il and Yeo-wool follow, bringing tension and an eerie atmosphere with her. Woo-hye's trademark is a red dress, the mere silhouette of which will reportedly be bringing chills down one's spine. If this isn't the description for a possibly malevolent spirit, I don't know what would be.

Lee Ji-ah has commented "I'm happy to greet you with a new work, and I'm excited to tackle a new genre and role. I will try my best to deliver a good performance in a show many can enjoy. I will do my best to make it a good drama everyone will be talking about this summer". The production side said "Lee Ji-ah is an actress who will raise people's curiosity with a strange vibe. We cast her because we think that she can amplify the mystique of Woo-hye. Lee Ji-ah is an actress who can generate tension, and we believe that she will create a fresh, shocking character".

I had a short, disappointing brush with the actress's work in the past, but my reunion with her during "My Mister" showed me someone very capable in their craft, and if this is what I can expect more of, I'm thrilled to see her in solid works and good roles. I hope she brings us a femme fatale to die for this August.
