[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "Life on Mars" Indulges Our 80s Nostalgia with Themed Stills

Gotta hand it to the "Life on Mars" production, they know how big of a thirst for the 80s feel nostalgia-bound audiences will be suffering from until this airs. The upcoming OCN drama has released stills showcasing its blast from the past world building, and they're glorious.

I've been contemplating why it is that I like contemporary history more than history further back, and I think the relatability is what does it. I have no interest in historical dramas, as fascinating as they may be. But "Life on Mars" delivers teasing for a life closer to our own, a life which stills shapes those who lived it.

The stills are simply satisfying. The attention to details is humbling. From the Paralympics posters to the vintage cars, and from the cigarette brands to the adult magazines, I can't wait to discover the world that the series will be sharing. I'd like to think that, since they're showcasing it, the creators are as eager to deliver.

With a little over two weeks to go until the drama's premiere, I'm going to psyche myself up for "Life on Mars" like there's no tomorrow, cautious optimism be damned.
