Upcoming medical drama "Life" has been steadily releasing a lot of impressive material, and this time around we get character posters for its two leading men, as well as more information on their roles. The battle between these two, their goals, ethics and ideology is already looking nasty, so get your sadistic viewer appetite going.
Ye Jin-woo, who is played by Lee Dong-wook is a specialist at the Sang Gook University Hospital Emergency Medical Center, and he greatly values his beliefs as a doctor. Although he does not reveal what he is all about, and seems indifferent about what goes on in the hospital, he has very clear standards about the path a doctor should take. When the hard-headed and cold-hearted Goo Seung-hyo (Cho Seung-woo) becomes the general manager of the hospital, turmoil begins to shake Ye Jin-woo's life.
His poster reads "I could see the blood spilling", which sounds about right given the setting and intrigue. Lee Dong-wook has commented "Ye Jin-woo is a character who goes through complex inner change. However, the reason and goals behind his emotions, thoughts and behavior don't really show. I am trying not to make Jin-woo dull, so as to raise the audience's curiosity, and have them wonder things like 'What is Jin-woo thinking?' and 'What is the reason and goal for Jin-woo's behavior?' I will do my best to return with a work as good as your expectations. I ask for your great support".
Cho Seung-woo plays Goo Seung-hyo, the general manager of the Sang Gook University Hospital and a cold-headed winner who values numbers. He is a man who is always thinking about the direction of his business, and who is able to predict any possible future situation and prepare a Plan B for it beforehand. As the youngest highly successful CEO of his group, Goo Seung-hyo will receive the position of a general manager for a hospital, which handles human lives rather than goods.
His poster is chilling to the bone, stating "Hospitals are enterprises, healthcare is an industry. What is so different about them?" On his work in "Life", Cho Seung-woo has commented "I think it will be very different from existing medical dramas. I am working hard with great fellow actors, so I ask for your anticipation". I will definitely be anticipating "Life", which will begin its run on July 23rd on jTBC.
