[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "Miss Hammurabi" Introduces Quirky Judges in First Teaser

The three weirdo judges of "Miss Hammurabi" are finally getting some video to match their descriptions, handily delivered by Ryu Deok-hwan's character in the drama's first teaser. We have a stickler for the rules, a justice-driven fighter, and someone with a short fuse. Yep, the courtroom will be on fire, alright.

Ryu Deok-hwan's super-informed Jeong Bo-wang takes us through the different characters. First up is Im Ba-reun (Kim Myung-soo), The Total Jerk. Ba-reun thinks the law should be absolute and applied equally, and that judges are just tools for that law who shouldn't take sides, like artificial intelligence. He's also someone who defies rank, and has no problem lacking etiquette against the older judge.

Then comes Park-Cha Oh-reum (Go Ara), The Crazy Newbie. She's all manner of cheeky and fearless, from her womanspreading on the subway, to what looks like facing her probably sexist colleague, when she puts on a niqab and fake-politely asks him "Would it be okay for women to bare their hands so obscenely like this?"

Sung Dong-il's Han Se-sang has an even shorter fuse than Oh-reum, however, as he is the kind to completely lose his cool in court, earning him the designation of The Profane Judge by Bo-wang. After this crazy introduction, someone asks our dear informant "How are you keeping it together", to which he replies that he thinks it's fun. Well, at least someone enjoys these three unorthodox officials in there.

The teaser is more humorous than I expected, and it captures the essence that the three leads start with well. I can already see the problems that will form between them, as well as the ways in which they could improve, so "Miss Hammurabi" will hopefully be a journey of their growth. The drama will begin its run on May 21st, on jTBC.
