[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "Ms. Ma, Nemesis" Releases Main Character Stills and Information

The plot thickens, as we find out more about the titular Ms. of "Ms. Ma, Nemesis", as well as her two co-leads, with the information accompanied by stills. The drama, which is based on Agatha Christie's work, is about a woman hiding her identity while trying to clear her name.

Ms. Ma (Kim Yunjin) was raised in riches, but she loses it all when she is falsely accused of murdering her daughter. While locked in a psychiatric clinic, she gathers clues for her case, before escaping and setting her plans in motion. She disguises herself as a single, 40-year-old writer, and pretends to live peacefully in her luxurious village home, all the while planning her revenge. In this process, she meets people who are falsely accused, and uses her sharp reasoning to clear them of their charges, making her the local go-to problem solver.

Jung Woong-in plays detective Han Tae-gyoo, who never lets go of his target once his mind is set. After being expelled from high school under false charges, he becomes a man of he law in hopes of preventing such unfair treatment of others. He is the detective who originally arrests Ms. Ma, and after the woman's escape 9 years later, he is placed in charge of tracking her down. During this chase, he finds clues that were not available 9 years ago, and starts feeling conflicted about the case.

Ko Sung-hee's Seo Eun-ji finally gets more details as well. She is a cheerful woman in her 20s who helps Ms. Ma in order to find her missing younger sister, whom she lost in a terrible way 9 years ago. Upon discovering her sister's hairpin in the belongings of Ms. Ma's murdered daughter, Eun-ji begins following the case. She addresses Ms. Ma as her aunt in front of Han Tae-gyoo, preventing her identity from being discovered, and uses it as an opportunity to enter the woman's life and home, where they live as aunt and niece.

So we have two women who are very likely involved in the same incident, and a detective who messed up royally trying to make things right. This is a nice set up. According to the production, the Agatha Christie Foundation, which I am guessing means Agatha Christie Limited (ACL), have already shown their approval and excitement over the script and cast, so let's hope that "Ms. Ma, Nemesis" can dazzle us, starting October 6th at 21:05 KST on SBS.
