[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Past Trauma Resurfaces in Third Teaser for "Come and Hug Me"

Relationships come with all manner of baggage, but "My father wants to murder you" is way up there on the list of romantic obstacles, and "Come and Hug Me" dives right into it in its latest teaser. The hero is caught between a rock and a hard place, between a dreaded past and the future he wants to have.

Everything is looking good for Chae Do-jin (Jang Ki-yong), but reporters during a shining moment bring back the memories which form the drama's premise. A psychopath killer of a father who sees compassion and affection as worthless, and who wants his son to be like him is not the best type of adult figure to grow up with.

Do-jin's love for Han Jae-i (Jin Ki-joo) is strong, but his father's shackles are formidable. Once called Nak-joo, Jae-i can be heard telling her beau that she will love him forever, no matter what. When the two meet again, they will have to sort through the very real danger of a terrible man, as well as the baggage between them. Do-jin teases that conflict with a simple, but loaded question; "Nak-won, can you smile at me even now?"

I've been much more invested in the drama since I realized where the hero stands between his father and his first love, and it's a case of "terrified, but curious" for me. I can visualize all the ways in which this could be a complete mess of questionable messages and morality, but boy, do I want this to be good. Will you be joining this probably tragic journey of "Come and Hug Me" next week?
