[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Warrior Princess Baek Jin-hee Saves the Day in "Feel Good To Die" Poster

2018/10/29 | 430 views | Permalink

I swear, "Feel Good To Die" is after my own heart with its humor, and its latest poster goes straight into the pile that is my love for it. I'm usually the first to call out the problematic stereotype, and very real social burden, of women being expected to figuratively carry the weight of men's complexes, but this literal princess-carrying gives me hope for this story.

Baek Jin-hee's Lee Roo-da may need to help her boss grow out of his terrible character, but the supernatural element of her days repeating until she finds an answer makes this a necessity, negating any gendered or self-sacrificial burden right off the bat. I have a feeling I'll like her approach, and their eventual bonding. Kang Ji-hwan's boss seems pleased as well. You should be, you jerk.

The poster is so full of delicious detail. The office setting, the gust of heroic wind disturbing its mundane tranquility, as our heroine carries her needy burden like she just came out of the trenches. And she does this in a fine gown, because that's how big of a badass she is. Coming in for the final blow is her tagline, reading "I will protect you without mercy... Sir!" The entirety of my being is yours, "Feel Good To Die".
